The Realist was Paul Krassner's pioneering satirical magazine that used humor as a weapon against the political beasts that were (are?). In any case, it certainly blurred the lines between fact and fiction--and one could argue that The Realist was one of the first publications that offered misinformation as an avenue for political critique. Blurry lines sharpen the absolute buzzkill of American Society under cheap political will.
